What do the Monthly Fixed Charges Pay for? The fixed charge is the minimum amount to keep the entire water & wastewater system for both home use and fire protection. The water & wastewater systems must be continually maintained to ensure systems are operational and that the District can provide water and adequate production and storage capacities for fire protection. The fee is also so the District can accept and treat wastewater. The San Miguel CSD reads meters on or around the 15th of each month. Bills are due apon reciept and a 10% penalty will be assest if not payed by the 14th of the following month. This gives customers 30 days to pay without incurring penalties.
